Mmm, Mmm

We made Yummy Bars today... the kids really loved them!
Here's EmmaRay this morning after our excursion to the craft store. Isn't she adorable?
Sunday we had Stake Conference, so we were out of church by noon and got to enjoy the gorgeous 75 degree day! We let the kids play in the backyard-- they went "fishing" in the wishing well with branches from the apple tree that Michael just pruned. It was so funny to watch Brennan try to maneuver a 12 foot long fishing pole with branches.
The fishing poles turned into horses for galloping... after playing in the backyard we took the kids on a nice long walk and wore them out in the sunshine. They both took a nice nap before going to Grandma and Grandpa's for dinner. It was such a fabulous day... and so disappointing that it snowed yesterday and today.

We are very glad that tax day is over... despite our best efforts to complete our taxes weeks ago (we're getting a refund, so why not!), our tax accountant for our two business entities did not give us the taxes until Sunday morning (he was supposed to have them done last week and give them to Michael on Friday (they work for the same company) but that didn't happen and he called Saturday mid-morning and said "Your business owns a house???" He's had all the paperwork and Michael's been talking to him about it for at least three weeks.) Anyway, we couldn't finish our personal taxes until we had the numbers from the businesses, so after the kids went to bed Monday night we had grown up FHE... what fun. We got them submitted at 11:30pm on April 14th. Then yesterday at 8pm our tax guy called and said "I'm coming over! There's a problem with your taxes and we need to send in more paperwork." He left our house at 9 to go to the post office. I guess he earned the $700 we paid him...

How annoying of tax problems.....sounds like he didn't earn the $700 to me.......sounds like he caused a few headaches....But, hopefully it is all worked out and Uncle Sam won't come after you...:(

Wow. Lots going on. You know, all those messes just mean that you have creative and happy children in a creative environment. (And I bet you didn't even know that your make-up drawer qualified for that one, did you?) Ha ha. And I'm glad that I haven't had to deal with messy taxes yet. At least it's over for this year!

Hey, we sent in our taxes this year on the 14th, too!! We were waiting until my babysitter gave her ssn (again) so we could claim the child care. She called with that on Sunday after we asked for it for a few weeks. Oh well, we get a refund, too!

Silly kids.
