Cade LOVED the waves. He got the hang of watching for the second bigger wave and was only surprised a few times, but never knocked over (mommy and daddy were too close to let that happen). Give Cade a bucket, shovel and an ocean to get water and he's good for hours!
Here's Brennan loving the first look at the beach at La Jolla. This is the beach we went back to three times because it was just the best! Family friendly, nice waves, surfers to watch, sunny, not very much wind, palm trees and close bathrooms. What more could you want?
EmmaRay's first time touching the sand. She only tried to put some in her mouth once each time we went to the beach. Then she just loved playing with it! She did not really love getting covered in itchy sand... our favorite beach had the stickiest sand I've ever seen! But it washed off pretty easy in the bath. I'm sure our hotel loved us for leaving piles of sand in the bathtub :)
Here we all are at La Jolla Shores. It was windy and overcast while we were here, but it was more of a walk along the boardwalk overlooking beach cliffs than a beach, so it was okay. This was the only time it wasn't great weather. A nice family walking by offered to take our picture all together. Had to take them up on that!
This is the view through the cave at La Jolla. Pretty neat view.
Here are EmmaRay and I struggling to get a good picture in front of the beautiful flowers at the temple. EmmaRay was too interested in running around by herself to sit there very happily.
Not much better with Daddy, but not for lack of trying!
Here's Michael's favorite picture of me at the temple. It was a gorgeous day and I can't believe how amazing that temple is. No wonder people think that it's a princess castle as part of Disneyland!
Here's Cade and Brennan doing their best to look like dusty cowboys leaning in an old adobe doorway. This was in Old Town San Diego where we went to walk around on Sunday afternoon. They were having a big Spanish festival for Cinco de Mayo, so it was a lot of fun!
Well, this at least covers a day and a half of our fun... more later!

Love it all Particularly love the picture of Cade in the doorway......something about the way he is leaning against the wall! Oh, give me the beach!
Fun! Amen to all mom said.
I was browsing through your blog and read that you mowed the lawn of a vacant house. Are you the one who is mowing the lawn at the house we were in? When we were still there we drove past it a couple of times and saw that someone had mowed it. I was wondering who it was. You are such a sweet person. I am sorry about the flood and swamp cooler! You definitely don't deserve it!
