Day 29

Here's a quick update for the family- we're on day 29 of bed rest and doing fine. The baby is healthy and very active, the mommy is feeling fine but bored of sitting, and the husband and boys are being amazingly helpful (with the help of Grandma and friends too). The doctor is happy with the way things are going, so we're just staying lazy and quiet around here waiting at least five more weeks. We're trying to keep the kids entertained-- we just brought our little slide into the living room so they can burn some energy (not that we'd be playing outside anyway if I wasn't on bed rest-- it's a total of 17 degrees today in this ice cube city). Mom of course has been amazing dropping everything to take care of us-- we'll owe her big time when this is all over!!

Michael keeps too busy at the moment. For those of you who don't know he was rear ended on the way home from work last week and has some whiplash. He went to the Instacare that night for x-rays and the doctor told him he needed to stay home from work the next day, not lift anything, not bend over and stay in bed for a few days. Michael told the doctor that his wife is on strict bed rest and the doctor said "Oh I hope you have help!" They sent him home with a neck brace, muscle relaxers and ibuprofen. He wore the neck brace for the drive home and that's it. We had a hard time deciding who could put the kids to bed that night... because neither one of us is supposed to lift anything. But, his neck and back are doing a lot better now- just still stiff and sore. It could have been a lot worse, so we feel blessed. He stays busy with work and our online businesses and the second house that we'll either sell or rent.

We're glad that we can all stay in touch and exchange pictures and keep track of how everyone is doing now. Great idea everyone!
