We enrolled Cade in a community soccer league. He was put on a 1st/2nd grade team (even though he would be in Kindergarten now). We think it will be a good stretch for him.
Today was his first game! The coach started off by having them do some practice kicking.

A few of the kids on Cade's team have played soccer before, but a few are like Cade and this was their first experience ever. When the whistle blew to start the game I wondered if Cade even knew which goal to kick toward. We were super happy though that Cade ran and followed the ball around, got in some kicks when he could, and listened to his coach.

The coach was really good at rotating the kids through the different positions, so Cade got to play offense (running around chasing the ball), defense (positioned close to the goal), and then at the very end got to be the goalie, although the yellow team never made it down there while he was in the goal.
Cade's team, the Jaguars, won the game with a score of 4-3 against the Panthers! Better than that though, Cade had a great time and even bounced back after he was knocked to the ground and hurt his wrist a little in the 3rd quarter. The whole point of putting him in soccer was to get him interacting with other kids and learning from another adult, and to have fun!

I think it's the best to watch your kids accomplish things. Good job, Cade!
