The Saturday before Easter our ward had an Easter egg hunt and Breakfast. First we had yummy things like fresh strawberries, grapes and oranges, donuts and muffins, and then they let the youngest kids out first, then the middle, then the oldest kids. The grounds of the church building were covered with eggs. Of course, the kids were adorable picking them up and putting them in their buckets, and were so excited when they discovered that all of the eggs were filled with Jelly Beans (Jean Beans as EmmaRay calls them).

We always celebrate the Easter bunny on Saturday, so we can celebrate the real meaning of Easter on Sunday and keep that separation for the kids. Michael's parents had come down Friday night and stayed at his Aunt's house. They were planning on showing up at our house by conference time, but we told them if they wanted in on the excitement of the new puppy and Easter they better come by 8am. Michael kept the kids upstairs until they made it :)
We had their Easter Baskets waiting on their little table for them, filled with treats, paint sets, toys and books (mostly courtesy of Easter Bunny Aunt Lisa-- thanks for cleaning out your house and giving the perfect basket fillers to us!)
And then of course there were eggs hidden all over the house for the kids to find. Sometimes it's so much fun to be a parent!!
Here's EmmaRay giving me a smiley face with a mouth full of jelly bean taffy (surprisingly really quite dangerously yummy). I asked her to say Happy Easter and she said "Happy Measter!"
We had a great time with and my sister Kristen and her husband Alex who we saw for about 45 minutes on Saturday, our good friend Jason who came after the Priesthood session of conference and stayed until lunchtime on Sunday, Michael's sisters and their husbands and his parents on Sunday, and my parents and sister Lisa who came for Easter Sunday dinner. It's always fun to have a houseful of friends and family!! (and a house big enough to accommodate!)
