The little friends got a fairy makeover when they arrived-- tutu, wings, eyeshadow, blush and pixie dust of course. Here are Ella, Jane, EmmaRay, Olivia, Halle, Taeya, Adelynn and Elisabeth, the 8 adorable fairies who visited our house!
Our friend Jason was here for the weekend-- he was the complimentary carousel ride. All the fairies had fun "really flying". I'm sure he was sore after all of that! Unfortunately I only got one picture, but he had two fairies at a time for most rides. They giggled and giggled.
The kids each got to make some tiny fairy friends. I think they all had a good time making these.
After that they colored a Tinker Bell picture.
Then they got to make their own magical fairy wands (strawberries and grapes on a skewer), and sprinkle them with pixie dust before eating (yellow colored sugar in individual tiny jars-- a HUGE hit!)
We completed our fairy tea party lunch with flower or star sandwiches (open face pb&j or honey), fairy cheese slices (star and heart shaped), fairy carrot sticks (matchstick cut-- also a huge hit!), and pink fairy nectar.
EmmaRay opened gifts from her friends-- a princess puzzle, Tinker Bell doll, purse, nail polish and gloves, a treasure box to paint and decorate, fun school activities and a ballerina barbie doll. She was thrilled and overwhelmed by all the nice gifts!
Time for cake!! Anyone seen Tinker Bell's new movie "The Secret of the Wings"? (Do you love how I just referenced her like a famous actress... haha.) It's all about the difference between Spring/Warm fairies and Winter fairies, and how Tinker Bell has a twin sister who is a winter fairy named Periwinkle and their wings sparkle when they're near each other. Anywho.... EmmaRay wanted a cake that showed both seasons and both fairies. Here's what I came up with....
Daddy is a trickster... he lit the candles again! EmmaRay giggled and blew them out again.
EmmaRay and the whole family played all afternoon and after dinner she finally got to open her gifts from Mommy and Daddy.
Toy hermit crabs with a house too.
A fairy playset.
And a Cinderella with a magic wand that makes her talk and her dress light up and sparkle.
We love how similar EmmaRay and her Cinderella doll look....
Our last birthday tradition is Birthday Spankings! One for each year and a pinch to grow an inch. In our family everyone gets a turn :)
We sure love our EmmaRay Star! Happy Birthday Sweetheart girl.
And we love Adelynn too-- she wanted in on the action. In fact, all week long she's been talking about "my birt-day" and "I going to my party!" She'd get upset if anyone said it was EmmaRay's birthday instead, but finally the day before she said "Eh-Ray's birt-day party tomorrow, I going to Eh-Ray's party!"
